Hampton was part of a group of new recruits signed to the WWE Performance Center in March 2022. She had no previous wrestling experience, instead coming from an acrobatics and tumbling background. She made her in-ring debut under the ring name Sol Ruca at a house show in Jacksonville, Florida, on June 24, 2022, teaming with Solo Sikoa to defeat Grayson Waller and Tiffany Stratton. She made her televised debut on the September 27, 2022 episode of NXT 2.0, defeating Amari Miller. In December, Ruca gained viral fame for her innovative finisher, a springboard backflip cutter dubbed the Sol Snatcher. On the January 24, 2023 episode of NXT, Ruca and Alba Fyre faced Kayden Carter and Katana Chance for the NXT Women's Tag Team Championship in a losing effort. In April, Ruca was one of the wrestlers injured by a mystery assailant.] This was done to write her off television as she ruptured her ACL, which required surgery.
